Setting up LogMeIn Rescue to Check for Firmware Issues

This article gives guidance to Rescue Administrators.

Upload a file that LogMeIn Rescue uses to identify when a device’s firmware is not current. The file contains OS properties and can include a link to current firmware.

  1. Select the Global Settings tab.
  2. Under Mobile device settings > Firmware Data Upload, click Browse and select the file containing firmware requirements and URLs directing customers to current firmware versions.
    Important: Download the template XML file to ensure that you follow the proper format.
  3. Click Upload.

    Result: The selected file is uploaded.

  4. Click Save Changes.

    Result: The data is made available on Click2Fix.

Results: How does this work for the technician? In the Technician Console, the Click2Fix alert bar will notify the technician when a difference is detected between the firmware on the customer's device and properties defined in the uploaded file.
