Task 3: Configure a Technician User

This section configures a user to have access to the Rescue by GoTo application.

Task 3.1: Add Permission Sets to a User

You can learn from this article how to add permission sets to a user.

Note: The information below pertains to Salesforce Lightning Experience users

Navigate to Setup > Users > Permission Sets.
Select the appropriate Permission Set for Rescue by GoTo from the two available options:
- Rescue Admin Permission Set: Provides the functionality needed for a Rescue admin. Access to see and modify the Rescue Settings object.
- Rescue Integration Permissions: Provides the functionality needed for any Rescue user. PIN generation and access to Case, Rescue Log and Rescue Session objects.
Assign the Permission Set to a User or list of Users.
Click Save.

Navigate to Setup > Email > Classic Email Templates.
Click Edit next to Rescue PIN email.
You can now modify the default email template for sending the pin and link to the customer. You can also edit the email body as per your preferences:

Important: The annotations {!PIN} and {!PINLINK} are needed to display the pin and link in the email. If you delete them, they will not be sent.

If you had an older version of the package, you should have your Rescue Session and Rescue Logs data backed up. Here are the steps how import them.

Click Setup at the top of the page in Salesforce.
In the QuickFind box, navigate to Integrations > Data Import Wizard.
Click Launch Wizard.
Click Custom objects and select Rescue Sessions.
Click Add new and update existing records, configure it as below and upload the .csv file corresponding to the Rescue Session records on Choose File.
Click Next and map the fields by clicking on Map. Some of the fields are automatically mapped.

Important: Map all the fields containing the rescuebygoto_prefix.

Note: You should see something like this:
Click Next and Start Import.
In the QuickFind box, navigate to Integrations > Data Import Wizard
Click Launch Wizard.
On the Wizard click Custom objects and select Rescue Logs.
Click on Add new and update existing records, configure it as below and upload the .csv file corresponding to the Rescue Log records on Choose File.
Click Next and map the fields by clicking on Map. Some of the fields are automatically mapped.

Important: Map all the fields containing the rescuebygoto_prefix except for CaseOwner and OwnerID.
Click Next and Start Import.
