How to Send a File to a Customer

    This article gives guidance to Rescue technicians.

    Follow this procedure to send a single file to a customer via GoTo Rescue.

    Before you begin:

    The customer must be running the Rescue Applet or Calling Card. This option is not available during Instant Chat in chat-only mode.

    The agent's Technician Group must have permission to send files.

    You can only send one file at a time.

    1. On the Chat console, click the Send File button.
      Send File

      Result: The Open dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select the file you want to send to the customer and click Open.

      Result: The customer is prompted to save the file.

    3. Ask the customer to choose a location and click Save.

      Result: The file is saved to the customer's chosen location.

    Results: An MD5 fingerprint is generated and communicated to both the technician and the customer in the log.
